The Beginning of the End

I guess the rut is almost over.  The elk camera has been taken down and it was downright cold on Saturday morning in Benezette.  Multiple times this weekend, the thermometer said it was less than 40 degrees outside.  BRRrrrrr.

This weekend was full of more drywall hanging and a little bit of electrical work.  I think we have some drywall finishing help lined up for this coming weekend which is pretty darn exciting!

After drywall comes painting and I love painting! (More than I love staining, which, I’m not actually sure I love.)  And after painting comes floors and cabinets and appliances and furniture and then we’re done! Whew.

On Saturday afternoon I took some visitors to the Elk County Visitor Center.  It was packed like the rut was still on!  We took the long way back to In The Sticks Cabins and saw a pretty big bull on the way down the hill and a nice group of elk behind the creek in town.  I was the driver so I only got pictures in town (and not even a great one, I really need to work on my photography skills).

Saturday evening there was quite a bit of bugling as we stood around the fire and a little bull even looked like he was going to stop by.  I caught a picture as he headed the other direction to chase after some ladies.
