Frequently Asked Questions

Do you allow pets?

We do not allow pets at any In The Sticks Cabins Property.

Can I check in early or check out late?

Maybe! We offer early check in and late check out for $35, when it is available. Our teams need plenty of time to prepare our cabins for guests, so some times we are unable to honor your requests. Add it to your reservation and we’ll let you know if it’s available.

Where, exactly, are you located?

The Branch and The Sapling are located just across the road from The Elk Country Visitor Center. The Willow is conveniently located on Route 555, less than 10 minutes from the visitor center. You will be given the exact address after booking.

Where’s the best place in Benezette for a sit-down breakfast?

Sadly, this place doesn’t exist. You’ll find mini donuts at Elk Life, and The Medix Hotel is serving breakfast occasionally. We love breakfast at Rose’s Hilltop Diner in St. Mary’s. But our favorite place for breakfast is in our cabins. Order our Benezette Breakfast Basket and you’ll get everything you need to make an easy, amazing breakfast in your vintage flannel L.L. Bean bathrobe!

What’s your cancellation policy?

100% refunds are given for any cancellations made within 48 hours of making your reservation unless reservations are made within 7 days of check-in.
Reservations made within 7 days of check-in are final and nonrefundable.
Cancellations made outside of the 48 hour window will follow the below refund schedule:
45 days or more before check-in – 50% refund
44 days or less before check-in – no refunds issued
If you would like to reschedule your stay, we are happy to do this up to 45 days prior to check-in. A 10% rescheduling fee will apply.
Please consider purchasing trip insurance to protect what you’ve invested for your trip to Benezette.

When’s the best time to visit?

We think the best time to visit Benezette is any time! Folks shy away from winter visits, but that’s the best time to see large herds of Pennsylvania Elk. In the early spring, bull elk shed their antlers, so you’ll see them with a huge rack one day, one antler the next and potentially no antlers by the third day! In the early summer, cow elk are birthing calves and quietly introducing them to world. The fall is the big show during the elk rut season where bulls compete for the affection of cows with throaty bugling calls and antler locking fights.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yep.

What should I pack?

Clothes. Food. Your toothbrush.
